Martineau usually attends the following law fairs:
|
-
Birmingham University
-
Warwick University
|
"Having attended law fairs as a student and a trainee I have had the opportunity to experience them from both perspectives. As a student I was aware of how important it was to make a good impression after all, the human resources officer on the other side of the table could be the person conducting your assessment at Martineau a few months later.
As a trainee, I would say make sure you talk to one of us, as we are in the best position to tell you what it is actually like to work at Martineau and I promise we will be honest! |
 |
It is also worth doing some research before you attend the fair so that you are able to focus your visit to the firms which are of interest to you, that have the departments you are keen to sit in and are based in the location that you want to work in. Finally, if you have a question, just ask...we won't bite!"

| "Law fairs might seem a little daunting, or alternatively you may just see them as an opportunity to fill your bags with free gifts. In reality, however, they are an excellent chance to make yourself known to the people who will be reviewing your application and to also ask the current trainees what life is really like at the firm. No matter what you may think, it is always easier to make your mind up about a firm when you have met it's employees in the flesh, and indeed for you to make an impression too!"
