Michelle is a member of the dispute resolution group. She advises corporate and individual clients on a wide range of commercial disputes, such as breach of contract claims, product liability and debt recovery, breach of warranty claims and Commercial Agency Regulations issues.
Michelle has particular experience in dealing with claims in tort, and especially professional negligence claims against solicitors and financial advisors, prosecuting and defending a range of commercial claims in the High Court, County Courts and in the Mercantile Court. Michelle also handles contentious probate matters and claims arising in connection with the administration of estates.
Recent cases Michelle has worked on include acting for a supplier based outside the jurisdiction in relation to a claim brought by a UK-based customer for damages in excess of £5 million for alleged breach of contract; acting for a midlands-based company in relation to a dispute over the quality and fitness for purpose of steel supplied to it by a European intermediary necessitating expert evidence input which resulted in an amicable settlement between the parties; and acting for a UK subsidiary of a large Plc in a claim for a five figure sum involving complex issues surrounding breach of contract and tortious liability.
