Michael heads the firm's construction team, with primary responsibility for the provision of contentious (adjudication, arbitration, litigation and ADR) construction advice to our clients. He has led the firm's work on a number of high value construction disputes, and has been involved in several international disputes including ICC arbitrations.
Michael's non-contentious construction work includes drafting forms of building contracts, forms of appointments and other associated documentation, for example warranties, bonds and PCGs. He has also led the firm's team on a number of PFI/PPP schemes and FE/HE campus redevelopments.
"When not advising on construction law, I lead our equine law team advising on claims for breach of contract, negligence and under the Animals Act. I also enjoy writing a monthly legal 'agony uncle' page for a leading equestrian publication."
Michael is an accredited mediator and a Chartered Arbitrator, and writes and lectures widely on construction dispute resolution. He is recognised by Chambers as an expert in construction law.
