Jane heads the firm's employment group, responsible for a dedicated team of 11 employment lawyers. Her team helps clients get the best out of their working relationships with employees, and prides itself on giving commercial, practical and solution-focused advice.
Her work covers all aspects of employment law, including large scale redundancies and restructurings; discipline, performance and grievance issues; and senior terminations. Jane also regularly trains line managers and HR staff on what is a complex and ever changing area of law. However, her specialism is employment litigation, particularly complex discrimination and equal pay claims and claims arising out of breaches of restrictive covenants and disclosure of confidential information. Clients include universities, colleges, large companies, SMEs and charities.
"My interest in diversity and equality has led to me becoming a director of the UK Council for Access and Equality, an organisation that promotes the concept of inclusive working environments and is developing a nationally recognised standard for good equality practice. I have co-written a book on workplace stress with my partner, Smita Jamdar."
