triple success at martineau johnson

01/08/2007

Birmingham and London law firm Martineau Johnson has responded to record levels of business and revenues by appointing three members of staff to senior associate or associate status.

The appointments, across three disciplines within Martineau Johnson's Commercial Disputes Management Group, reflect the firm's growth and also its dedication to recognising and rewarding the achievements of its staff.

The Commercial Disputes Group has seen turnover reach record levels in the last 12 months, growing by 10% and now providing around 20% of the total turnover of the firm.

Partner and head of the Group, Andrew Adams, commented: "We have seen our disputes management practice go from strength-to-strength, while some of our competitors have experienced a downturn in this area.

"The internal appointments will enhance a strong practice even further and are testament to Martineau Johnson's commitment to the recruitment and development of highly talented lawyers and to the support of the senior management team.

Michelle O'Brien has been promoted from associate to senior associate in the commercial disputes team following eight years with the firm.

Tim Rayner and Alison Heathcote have both been promoted to associates, Mr Rayner in the property disputes team and Ms Heathcote in the construction team.

Managing partner Bill Barker said: "Although we do make lateral hires from time to time, we firmly believe that it is important to promote from within where possible.

"This is beneficial not only to the firm in terms of staff retention, but also to our client base which can take advantage of the continuity factor.

"The appointments will strengthen our capability in this area of expertise and we are committed to further growth in the future."
