three transactions completed for foresight group 01/03/2008 Three transactions completed in the run-up to Easter were for Foresight Group, one of the UK's best-known high-growth investment specialists in the green-tech/clean-tech sector. The deals were completed by Martineau Johnson's corporate finance partner, Kavita Patel.
"The initial amounts, some £14 million of investment funds committed in total, will be deployed alongside significant bank funding to support each company's expansion plans," she said.
"These are ambitious companies run by experienced individuals in high growth markets and aim to be significant players in each of their chosen markets," said Ms Patel.
Foresight's investments went into a company supplying wood pellets from renewable sources to help schools, offices and homes reduce their carbon footprint; another which processes industrial waste for safe recycling and disposal and potentially into energy generation in future. The third company recycles plastic that otherwise has no commercial use into DIY and building products.
Ms Patel also acted for Foresight on further funding of some £4m supplied to two existing renewable investee companies in the plastics recycling and wood to energy sectors.
"All deals are exciting in some way, but I think these gave everyone an extra buzz, because they were helping just the kind of environmentally-friendly companies which we all want to see succeed," said Ms Patel.
