specialist team concentrates exclusively on employment law and related
issues to provide advice which is prompt and technically accurate
on the one hand, commercial and practical on the other. Our work includes:
- advising on employment contracts, particularly the use of restrictive
covenants and confidentiality clauses, directors' remuneration
packages, bonus arrangements and share option schemes
- drafting policies and procedures, such as redundancy, disciplinary
and grievance procedures together with equal opportunities and
harassment policies
- advising on corporate transactions, including the effect of
the Transfer of Undertaking Regulations, collective redundancies
and trades union issues
- handling litigation in the Employment Tribunal, including claims
for unfair dismissal, discrimination, equal pay, deduction of
wages and breach of contract
- providing representation by experienced advocates in High Court
breach of contract claims and on applications for injunctions
to restrain breaches of post-termination obligations
- assisting with day-to-day personnel issues, such as the handling
of dismissals and the settlement of disputes, discrimination,
trades union recognition, collective bargaining and strikes, Working
Time Regulations, absenteeism and stress
- providing training for clients on all aspects of the employment
relationship and on developments in employment law, with regular
seminars and workshops and tailor-made programmes on your premises
